SYNCHRONOUS 2016

SYNCHRONOUS is an annual event that takes place in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee during early June. The event is a spectacular display of the Synchronous fireflies (Photinus carolinus). They are the only of their species whose individuals can synchronize their flashing patterns. The event is intensely beautiful and I wanted my designs to literally illuminate through the dark just as the fireflies do, so along with sticking to a contrasted color palette of yellow and blacks, I silk-screened three posters as well as the book cover and business cards using a glow-in-the-dark ink. In the light, you see scenery but in the dark, you are greeted with the lights of the fireflies.
