NeKohi is a cat cafe that takes in and cares for strays and helps them find loving homes through adoption. What is a cat cafe? A cat cafe is a theme café whose attraction is cats that can be watched and played with. Usually customers schedule a time and pay to come visit the cats that live at the cafe. They are hugely popular in Japan with over 150 nationwide with 40 of them in the city of Tokyo. As these types of cafes are largely popular in Japan and other Asian countries, they are only beginning to make their way on Western soils. Nekohi is a cat cafe in the United States that sells Asian-inspired snacks in which proceeds of products sold go directly to the care of the cats and the partnering local shelters. The goal is to not only raise awareness of strays, which is a major issue in the U.S., but also provide a safe place for cats and cat lovers to meet and play while creating a relaxing environment.
