INDIAN WANTS THE BRONX

The Indian Wants the Bronx is a one-act play by Israel Horovitz. The intensely psychological play centers on the irrational and random violence that dominated society during the mid-twentieth century. To reinforce the evil that people are capable of, I held no bars when creating the poster's image. I wanted to depict the exact devils that can reside underneath society's exterior. I illustrated the figures loosely in silhouette to emphasis their lack of identity and painted the type with a thick brush. Given full control over the project I dropped the definite article "the" and bluntly renamed it "Indian Wants the Bronx."
